Howard Rice Nemerovski Canady Falk & Rabkin, announced today that Jeffrey E. Faucette and Jonathan W. Hughes have been elected to membership on the firm's board of directors, effective March 1, 2004. In announcing the new directors, Stuart Lipton, Managing Director of Howard, Rice said, "Each of our new directors exhibit an unwavering dedication to our professional mission: the delivery of the highest quality service to our clients. Each of them has shown a strong commitment to the Firm and its employees. I am highly confident that they will continue to contribute greatly to the success of Howard Rice." The new directors are: joined the firm in 1997. He has a broad commercial and civil litigation practice encompassing intellectual property disputes, all forms of commercial disputes, director and officer liability, defamation and professional liability claims. His current clients include Ariba, Inc, Hewlett-Packard, Oakland Raiders, and Major League Baseball Properties, Inc. joined the firm following his clerkship for Ninth Circuit Judge Melvin Brunetti. In 2003, he was trial counsel for the Oakland Raiders in a four-month jury trial resulting in a verdict of more than $34 million for the Raiders. He has litigated land use, environmental and securities cases before regulatory agencies and in federal and state courts. He is committed to his frequent pro bono representations on behalf of school children, immigrants, tenants and those diagnosed with AIDS.
